Sir Terence Conran is so sure that paella is set to become the new pizza that he has launched Meza, a Spanish bar and restaurant, in the former Mezzo site on Wardour Street.

Along with a group of Spanish taste aficionados, Conran has spent the last year sourcing the best ingredients from Spain. From securing the very best olive oil (Antara) to importing almonds from Tarragona and finding suppliers of Spanish razor clams, his aim is to bring the tastiest Spanish food and drink to Soho.

Canadian veterans, Cowboy Junkies are at RFH. 7:30pm. Belvedere Rd, SE1. £12-20. 0870 401 8181 or online.

Our fave Har Mar Superstar is at Mean Fiddler. 7pm. 165 Charing Cross Rd WC2. £10. 0870 154 4040 or online.

Inside, the restaurant looks like a stylish beach side bar, full of natural timbers, pebbles, and marble, all flooded by natural daylight from the high ceiling atrium. Lounge around on the sexy turquoise leather banquette seating, sip a sherry and munch through the extensive tapas menu. The place is perfect for informal, fun dining and is definitely much friendlier than Posh.
