Next New Artists present material - opening October 15
Cosy up

As the nights get cold, the thought of spending time outdoors seems less and less appealing.

Much better to cosy up with someone special in front of the warm hearth of a movie screen.

The 2nd Frieze Art Fair is of course on this weekend. We have tix to alternative fringe collective Next New Artists's launch party tonite. 6:30pm. Write in by 1pm to enter the draw for one of ten pairs.

More gay spectacles at ICA where Duckie puts in a Kate Bush tribute. 8pm. The Mall, SW1. £10. 020 7930 3647.

Sick of the usual Hollywood blockbusters? Junk, a travelling independent film festival, promises to be anything but predictable. Billed as high on aesthetic, passion and creativity, but low on budget, the night offers a line up of no less than 16 short raunch-focused films, each weirder and more wonderful than the next.

The night features a wide variety of topics ranging from tame to truly titillating. Highlights include Ryan Junell's Ghost Boobs, the rock video for the underground band Gravy Train. Compare that to A Tale of Two Plushies, directed by Amanda Laws, which exposes the world of those saddos who never got over sleeping with teddy, or the intellectually challenging Operation Inverted, directed by Tara Mateik, which explores the legal laws surrounding botox and gender reassignment.

Sounds heavy? Organisers promise it will be a definite eye-opener of short independent and DIY films that otherwise might never see the light of day.

Queer, sexy and certainly challenging, the night is guaranteed to make you the most interesting person at the next dinner party.
