Top Spot is aptly named after a teenage disco and draws on Emin's own awkward adolescence on the sunny shores of Margate. Shot on DV and glorious Super 8, this is a highly personal (of course) exploration of youth through the eyes of six turbulent teenage girls. Other diverse delights include Palindromes, the latest offering from America's Master of the Macabre, Todd Solondz (this is one love story that definitely won't be a hearts and flowers affair) and Bullet boy at Rio, the debut feature from young urban film maker Saul Dibbs. |
