Welcome to King's Cross

Say the words King's Cross and restaurant in the same sentence and watch the faces fall. Oh sure, in three years time it'll be King’s Cross International, with a direct link to Paris and beyond.

But in the meantime, it's an urban nightmare of construction works, dodgy chippies and, ahem, ladies of the night.

There is hope in sight, though, and it comes in the form of a relatively new café called Konstam. 'European kitchen table' is how chef and owner Oliver Rowe describes his simple yet delicious brunch menu - British comfort food cooked with the quality and flavourful flair of the Continent, at unbelievably reasonable prices, and in a relaxed yet stylish setting. (Check out the corkboard installation art!)

Favourites include: Red Pepper Tortilla, Smoked Haddock Chowder, and the best Eggs Benny in town (yes, better than the Ivy). Not to mention the organic juices, mouthwatering desserts and a daily choice of fresh salads.
