The ghosts of Hieronymus Bosch, Rubens and Jackson Pollock are all paying a visit to the confines of trendy Hoxton this week in a bizarre resurrection involving art and illustration.

Bosch in particular is likely to be surprised by the local haircuts and sights having last seen a renaissance of such styles around 1516.

Hopefully though he and his friends will enjoy some of the UK's most respected illustrators paying homage to the great and the dead at exhibition space 17.

Organised by the Scrawl Collective, illustrators and painters such as Will Barras, Steff Plaetz and Matt Sewell have used their craft to reinterpret those who have inspired them from the past. Hence work from the likes of graphic design legend Saul Bass, cartoonist Jean Dubuffet and Marvel Comics creator Jack Kirby will be reinvented through contemporary imagery at this daring show.
