Today, new restaurant Cocoon unveils its beautiful wings. The interior has been designed by top US architect Stephane Dupoux (Cielo nightclub in NY and Pearl champagne bar/restaurant in Miami) and the food is inspired by the finest fare of Asia's food halls. Chefs from Southeast Asia, China and Japan have been invited to bring a taste of the Orient to the 120-cover restaurant on the former site of L'Odeon on Regent Street. A small taster of the menu includes 'butterfly tiger prawns wrapped in crispy cabbage and drizzled with black pepper chilli oil' and 'steamed monkfish with cilantro and ginger on a bed of sticky jasmine rice'. You can also sample dumplings from the dim sum selection, or order innovative sush from the two separate sushi bars. Beats a 10" stuffed crust in front of the telly any day. |
