Having met whilst on their BA at Surrey Institute of Art and Design in 2000, the self-proclaimed 'unlikely lads' struck up a creative partnership to rival Lennon and Mc Cartney, Gilbert and George and even Warhol and his wig. Following their degree they were invited by Richard Priestley - the co-founder and creator of the Cell project space in Dalston, East London - to contribute two works to his show called 'Bag Lady' (Nov 29-Dec 21 2003) in the confines of a disused sweatshop in Bethnal Green. Although still artistic debutantes at this point, they followed this with their first solo exhibition, 'Temporary Tattoo' at The Jeffrey Charles Gallery in September of this year which introduced them to an attentive industry. |
