Welcome to the age of the Menier Chocolate Factory, an all-in-one gem of a place in the increasingly shiny crown of the Southbank that will surely become a blueprint for future civilised life on this planet. Proprietors David Babani and Danielle Tarento have completely restored the former chocolate factory interior to its former brick and wood beam glory. But just like a Caramilk bar, it's what inside that counts. The beautiful two-floor Gallery features all walks of cool contemporary art. The bar/restaurant serves delicious modern British food (I had the braised breast of guinea fowl followed by crème brulée - seriously good). |
