Twin brothers Jacques and Laurent Pourcel (the culinary tag-team behind the triple Michelin starred Les Jardins Des Sens restaurant in Montpellier) have gone for a Southern Mediterranean slant here. So that means good quality meats and seafood mixed with some unfamiliar flavours such as mandarin, saffron, vanilla and star anise. The interior's been designed by a protégé of Starck, which means room dividers made from huge strips of suede like oversized bookmarks; a giant spherical light which could easily earn a few bob masquerading as an art installation; and even a library (complete with second hand books) decked out in a shade Dulux probably call Artist-Formerly-Known-As-Prince Purple. |
