Richmond doesn't exactly rate high on our list of happening London hot-spots. The leafy, well-to-do enclave has as much cool kudos as Nathan Barley. |

But let's not knock it just cos we can't afford it; the Jaggers live there so it must have some clout. Although we can understand why they throw so many parties, what with the lack of local night-life - let's just say it's more Fine Line, than fine. But hark, what's this? A super fabulous new restaurant and bar is opening called The Bingham - which gives us a reason for making the trek. The Bingham is set on the river-side, with a balcony for dining al fresco and chandeliers to coo at if you're indoors. It's cosy, with a gentlemans club kind of vibe and a modern French menu that makes your mouth water. And on Sundays you can while away the hours to live jazz, nice. |

The cream on the cake is that The Bingham is nestled underneath the hotel of the same name, so handy if you don't want to schlep back on the District Line - and which almost makes it a mini-break. Do something different, pay a visit, and then wander along by the waterfront... Oh what a perfect day. The Bingham |
