Iniga Restaurant and Bar is the brainchild of Noura Salloum, a virgin in the bizarre bistro world. Luckily, she's rounded up a team of experienced restaurant pros - Marcello Santese, ex-Daphne's and Aura; Gebler Tooth Architects (the Electric Brasserie), and chef Claudio Deli - to turn the former Zaika Bazaar site into something 'new' (suspect, I know). There's the obligatory modern Italian menu, a signature dish that sounds like a Starbucks order - venison and coco ravioli served in a butter and sage sauce - an impressive Italian wine list, and an extensive yeah, innovative - cocktail list. The cool thing about this place - apart from the moderately funky optic fibre décor - is the bar, with live music Thursday through Saturday, and a blues singer from 11pm. |
