LA. Seems like lately we're being invaded by the silicone spirit.

Paris is launching an album, Nicole's got a book, dermatologists are the new GPs, Frankie Bs have replaced Superfines, and eating is reserved only for meat sans heat.

Director Ken Loach gives a master class @Ciné Lumière 6:30pm. 17 Queensberry Pl, SW7. £5. 020 7073 1350.

Got paper? Inspired by Rizla presents Andy Earl show.

I think even pinky surgery is making its way over here (god help us)! So far, so not fun.

But, the thing is: LA itself - if you are able to embrace the OTT plasticness of it - is actually very fun. It just doesn't translate well; just as our exports don't do well there. (Poor, poor Posh. Rocawear? What was that?!)

So if you haven't booked a Xmas holiday and still want to get away, you could do worse than a couple weeks in LA : tacky holiday meets tacky town - it's so bad, it could actually be quite good. And Travelbag suprisingly still has some non-crippling fares to LAX (no you're not allowed to wear Juicy on the plane, even if you are LA bound), so a last minute trip, to sample the real deal, isn't too far fetched an idea.

La La Land: We're loving it. We think you will, too. For a holiday at least.
