What's
the Damage? |
|
|
What
started out as a sober, 15-day tour d'amour descended
into an, ahem, Bacchalian black hole, replete
with 300 euro bar tabs. I drank and scoffed so
copiously that the local pâtissiers actually
took to calling out my name as I walked by. So
I returned from Paris with a sated heart and a
pounding head. Oh, and a waist that was, like
me, now pushing 30.

Judging
from yet another long weekend of delicious gluttony,
it looks like the new hubby isn't too willing to shake
me (or himself) out of the post-honeymoon wine and cheese
haze. So it's time to go it alone. But what I need is
an expert, body-blitzing, habit-breaking experience
that won't break the Paris-recovering bank account...
For a long-haul haven,
Alila Manggis Bali are big on supreme service, with
Tai Chi and treatments thrown in, and packages starting
at $295 for three nights. A little closer to home is
the newly opened Vaha
Spa in Cyprus - think morning yoga and detox treatments
set around a fragrant lemon orchard, at about £670
for seven nights, all inclusive. And if you'd rather
bask in the Andalusian countryside with the gifted Kalmayoga
team, they do cracking week-long retreats from £600
per person. |
