Living in a Ditch |
|
|
Now
that it's official that buying a flat in London
is more difficult than getting from one appointed
tube station to another without being offered
a free 'newspaper' of some description, you have
to get creative if you want to remain a resident
here.
|
|
|
One
option is to buy an Ikea designed flat pack home, or
BoKlok,
from £99,500, but really - does anyone bother with Croydon
anymore? Living in a ditch is also not advisable (I
tried), so what about living under - or on - the water?
Dutch firm Waterstudio envisage a future when their
entire country is engulfed by the seas, and have come
up with the Wo29
Lounger, a groovy floating home.
Another option is to purchase, at only £799, the Pine
Helios gazebo/shed from Argos, and live in your
friend's garden. If you fancy going grand, word has
it the London Olympic Stadium will be flatpackable and
ready to ship wherever your heart desires once the festivities
are over.
|
|
Failing that, you could (for a reasonable sum) rent the garden office I have just got planning permission to build (seven months is good, honest Southwark), which has the sole intention of annoying the neighbours. Have parties every night, I don't care, I've moved.
