Now In-Store |
|
|
Remember
those depressing little caffs they used to have
in department stores, with grubby perspex cabinets
you lifted the front of to get your less-than-fresh
cheese bap, and maybe you'd spoil yourself with
a chipped cup of insipid tea and a two-finger
Kit-Kat?

Well,
haven't times changed? Harrods
was probably the forerunner of bringing posh nosh in-store
and has just launched its very own Nespresso
Boutique. It may not be a cafe, exactly, but at
least you get the chance to sample the very same espresso
favoured by Mr Clooney before you invest in a limited
edition Swarowski crystal encrusted Essenza machine
- a mere snip at £699 - and a supply of coffee pods.
While over at Selfridges
you can not only have your ice cold beer served to you
by probably the most efficient bartender in the world
- that's right, if Asahi made bartenders they'd make...
a bar-robot, doing his stuff in the food
hall for one more day only - but you can also sup
one all
of three new Mahiki rums in the Wonder Bar - so
you'll feel like royalty or eurotrash, depending which
way you look at it.
