Raising The Bar Food |
|
|
Oh,
those heady nights spent knocking back White Russians
in the Met Bar whilst rubbing shoulders with the
likes of Robbie Williams and George Benson. If
I remember right, food didn't really enter into
the equation, and oh how we suffered for it the
next day.

A
few (okay, nearly ten) years on, and the
Met Bar, having gone through various, slightly dubious
phases, seems to be zipping up its boots and raising
the stakes - in the bar snacks area at least.
Still one of the best places to go for a decent cocktail,
from the end of July you'll be able to take Afternoon
De-Light tea in one of the legendary, leather booths;
or choose from candy-coloured wheat-free macaroons and
cupcakes and dinky little no-bread sandwich pots for
a more innocent form of indulgence.
Alternatively, if teatime suddenly becomes Santori
time and you need something else to soak up the drink
there's the Midnight Menu, which features all those
classic favourites like a burger, kebab or curry but
made from the finest ingredients and at only £10 a pop.
|
|
They've
even introduced a raw-food heavy, well-being lunchtime
menu.
That's it. Proof that we really are getting older.
