Sweat It Out

For most of us - iron-pumping masochists aside - the best part of the gym experience is clearly the post-workout steam session. Yes, after struggling with one's reluctant body, there's nothing like treating it to a little down time.

A recent steam room encounter with another kind of down time between two men and insufficient mist, however, made something clear to me: heteros aren't having enough fun.

I won't deny I've sat in the steam fantasising some hunk of a man will pierce the clouds and get me even hotter. But does it ever happen? No. So far, I've only been accosted by an elderly pensioner who thought my closed eyes and recumbent posture meant I had passed out, and embarked on a regime of shouting at me repeatedly and slapping my shoulder. Sexy

So it's another stab in the heart that SweatBox is opening in Soho, and for 'Homo Superiors' only. Fluffy towels, a 40 man steam room with foam cannon, schmeissing at the Buff Spa. This place has fun in spades, and in 'sexy and breathtakingly stylish surroundings' too.

I want to be schmeissed too damnit! Or do I? Maybe some things are better kept, if not in separate worlds, then at least in separate gyms.
