Summer Fix

Ironic really, considering the rolling thunder and sporadic downpours, that we continue to call these our weekly Summer Fixes. However, befittingly it's a veritable downpour of good stuff here (see what we did there?). Packed with a feature, picks for what's on during the week, and some great pieces of writing, it's got everything you need to get through the next few days until our Weekend Guide hits you on Thursday.

This week's fixes:
Queen of the Kitchen
Dan Sartain, Forever 27, WK - LISTER, We All Turn This Way, Big Bank Holiday All Dayer
What's for Supper?: Summer in the City
Cowes Week Red Cap Party
Big Things In Small Packages

This week's Summer Fix is brought to you in association with glacéau vitaminwater. With the helium karaoke session - the next in their thursday night hydration club series - coming up this week, remember to keep August 21st clear in your diary, and pop down after work for another quirky evening of music and free glacéau vitaminwater cocktails. Click here for photos of the last great thursday night hydration club event, to get you in the mood.

TRAVEL : Cowes Week Red Cap Party

With more than 8000 entrants in 1000 vessels, Cowes Week down on the Isle of Wight, ranks pretty highly in the annual sailing diary. With its rich nautical heritage, full support of the UK's most popular sailing events, and it's iconic Red Caps, Mount Gay Rum has become an integral part of sailing culture across the globe.

NIGHTLIFE : Big Things In Small Packages

Whilst 'excess in all things' is a respectable motto for some, my tastes in life are rather too numerous for such foolery. Hence, as much as I loathe B52s and am rather glad of their demise, I respect their intent: bite-size doses of alcoholic perfection.
