Hindsight
really is 20/20. If I had known how my life
was going to turn out, I may have made some,
um, different choices.
|
|
Maths,
for instance. Would have paid a bit more attention
if I knew that a high-flying City career was
a possibility. Complete, obviously, with a hefty
sexual harassment lawsuit settlement before
the markets crashed.
With that kind of clairvoyance, there are doors
I would have locked, tequila I wouldn't have
drunk, and relationships that would have been
best avoided (yes, possibly all of them).
But really, that's not the way life works,
is it? So I'm wondering exactly why the dorks
at some leading universities have spent so much
time and money coming up with a genetic
test for baldness.
|
|
Because
what man - at birth, even - really wants
to know that he is going to have to shave
his head and pretend it is "by choice"
for the rest of his life? Or forever depend
on Propecia. Which I happen to know makes
men-folk dribble, instead of shoot. If
you catch my drift.
Bloody pointless. It's like having a
genetic fat test for women. It's pretty
much inevitable, but who wants to know?
Not me.
