I've
been looking into joining a gym lately. Yes,
me. Well, it
didn't kill Emma. And one of my other colleagues
is so hooked that she's out the door every evening,
at what used to be martini o'clock, for a few
laps of the pool.

God
knows endorphins are marvellous little blighters,
but really, this is gin we're talking about.
But maybe there's something to this craziness...
So where do I go? Fitness First? (Hardly.)
Virgin Active? (Didn't you hear about that tosser
in their Islington sauna? Literally.) Shoreditch
House has a cute, little gym (with the emphasis
on petite).
The 25
Club - which has been operating quietly
for the last few months - officially launches
today. And with its network of gym users (mostly
from the three m's: media, money, and music),
think 'meat market meets members' club'. In
the nicest possible sense. And at £200 p.a.,
plus £60+ per hour for the personal trainers
that hold the concept (and, presumably, the
business plan) together, it's hardly painful.
Unlike the exercise regime.

Though
they do make some surprisingly decent
non-alcoholic, 'healthy' cocktails. So
whilst I don't really see one of their
internationally renowned trainers fetching
me a refreshing G&T between reps,
hopefully they won't mind the hip flask.
The 25 Club launches today.
