It is a long held belief amongst tribal elders (don't ask me which tribe, let's say for argument's sake, the red one) that a photograph steals the subject's soul. Which should make the Olsen twin's photographic coffee table book launch interesting. After that many years in showbiz and so little body mass to speak of, it'd be a miracle indeed if there was any spirit left to steal.

Seems the city's full of lost souls this month. The largest public space dedicated to the art of essence-embezzeling, the Photographer's Gallery, is moving to premises new with a view to some serious expansion. The Little Black Gallery, co-owned by original 'It' girl Tamara Beckwith, open it's doors with a new exhibition entitled Most Wanted, whilst a special downstairs area will be dedicated to late fashion photographer Bob Carlos Clarke with an ever changing display of his work and a dining room for collectors' supper clubs.
Finally, Wallpaper* joins the photo fetishists with a pop up gallery selling limited edition prints from the magazine's archives in Walpaper* Selects. Signed and numbered prints include work by Jonathan de Villiers, Mauricio Alejo, Jonathan Frantini and Christopher Griffith priced from £290 - £990.
Some souls, it seems, are very much for sale. |
