'Tis
the first of December, and we feel it might be time
to give up the grumbling ghost and embrace the season
to be jolly. Even if the once festive shop windows
are festooned with enormous discount posters. |
|
So
forget PDA's - Public Displays of Adornment - we're
going for something a little cooler. Over at perennially
stylish Dover
Street Market, Commes des Garçons have created
a range of special Christmas products whilst Andy
Hillman (a long time Vogue favourite and Tim Walker
collaborator) has given the windows a seasonal makeover
under the "Crystal Journey" theme.
Not to be outdone, Proud
Camden is redecorating to accompany its Christmas
programme, which includes Simian Mobile Disco, Florence
& The Machine and Cocknbullkid. Designed by Russell
Sage Studio and Danielle Proud, the darkly magical
Enchanted Forest features frosted white unicorns,
pop-art printed snow leopards, trash-luxe trees decorated
with forbidden fruit and acid coloured birds flying
out of lit birdcages.

|
For
some audience participation, head down to Covent
Garden where the light display by UVA, made
up of hundreds of LED tubes suspended from the
Market Building, can be controlled by visitors
to create their own patterns of light.
The more the merrier.
