The Rise of the Supper Club

Whilst the idea of the pop-up isn't exactly new, the supperclub entertainment element is adding a certain zing to proceedings.

Supperclubs may traditionally conjure thoughts of orgiastic free-for-alls where punters party hard whilst flaunting health and safety regulations (knifes and forks akimbo, spilt Bolognese dripping onto the flashing disco floor, shattered crockery piled atop of the bar), but the real thing is a far more elegant and extravagant affair.

South African cabaret extravaganza Madame Zingara and her Theatre of Dreams, which arrives at Battersea Power Station this Thursday, sets the tone via original Spiegel tents and a dash of cabaret. Combining comedy, music, and cirque throughout a four course dinner, and into 'le danse', it's a rollercoaster of a night. Whereas, if you find yourself in the West-End on a Monday and still haven't been to Bistrotheque's Flash, pick up a £6 GSK exhibition ticket and you get to see the cabaret for free.

And with the recently opened Double Club in Islington threatening to close it's rather fashionable doors before you can say Miuccia (Prada of course), it's a veritable wave of dinner parties to go to.

But like all things ADHD, catch them while you can. They won't be there for long.
