It seems that with the departure of fashion week, we've been knocked into something of a post-event stupour, involving brownies, fried macbooks and copious amounts of tequila. Yep, Casa UJ is on top form.
So to shake us back into action, we're planning a weekend at the Circus,
followed by some entrancing dancing Oscar Wilde style, and a bit of a jaunt round the East End. We may have (temporarily) lost our souls, but damn if we're going to lose our weekends too.
This weekend's guide is brought to you in association with Wintle Man, Jsen Wintle's eponymous label which has taken the capital by storm with it's couture-like, luxury menswear and precise tailoring. And now you can own a true piece of design too, as the End of Season Sample Sale kicks off this weekend with 75% off.

Matches
At a time when we're all looking to invest our money wisely, these extremely limited edition pieces are bang on. Matches have hit up their star-filled black book of designers and asked them to produce a series of exclusive pieces for their EDITIONS collection. UJ hearts Les Chiffonier's sequin jumpsuit, McQueen's handmade men's brogues, and Balenciaga's super luxurious clutch.

VV Brown at Borders
Fancy something a little sonorous to go with your sandwich today? Head over to Borders on Oxford Street at 1pm when pop diva VV Brown (who hammered the
LFW circuit last week) will be performing live as part of her collaboration with Marian Keyes for Women's Aid. Her set will include a cover version of 'This Charming Man' by the Smiths, whilst Marian's book, of the same title, is published in paperback by Penguin tomorrow.

Galvin Bistrot de Luxe
Eating at this still young but authoritative Baker Street institution makes you feel a bit like you're part of an exclusive club; like The Ivy without the pretense and rubber- necking.
Darkly panelled and firmly upholstered, it's a lesson in how a certain type of restaurant should look, the oval-shaped table 20 near the door being one of the most comfortable and best-placed.
The rich French-leaning food can sometimes make you feel like you're in danger of contracting gout but that's part of the charm. I have recently discovered a penchant for their signature roast veal brains but feel slightly like I should be wearing scratchy tweed and have hair sprouting out of my ears whilst I'm eating it. They're famous for other, equally delicious, lighter dishes too, like lasagna of Dorset crab and plaice meuniere with brown shrimps - they also do spiffingly good value set menu.
If you're just popping in for a drink the downstairs bar is one of the area's best-kept secrets, particularly on Sundays currently, as there's a programme of jazz evenings taking place, but book ahead to avoid disappointment.
I'm off to buy a polo neck and some looser fitting trousers.
