Once
I'd gotten over the chocolate-induced
nausea, the Easter break reminded me just
how sacred weekends are. And how important
it is, whatever the day, to indulge in
a little of what you fancy. |

The
smartly located Boxwood
Café, for example, has just introduced
one of the most tempting brunch menus
I've seen in a while - most of it not
insanely pricey - where you can chomp
down on a veal and foie gras burger and
chase with Belgian waffles, chocolate
fondue and bananas.
Eastside, meanwhile, at The
Modern Pantry, you can go for a more
exotic sugar-cured prawn omelette with
spring onions, coriander and smoked chili
sambal for brunch. Alternatively head
for their Dining Rooms on the first floor,
which are now open for Sunday lunch, where
at £22 for three courses it doesn't
feel quite so painful tucking into swordfish
ceviche followed by roast middle white
pork loin, curry leaf and mustard seed
roast potatoes and cavolo nero, with something
wicked for pud.
