This
weekend guide is brought to you by álaMODE.se
- the one-stop site for fashionable Sweden. Okay, so sure we're
taking a pounding from the dollar and euro at the moment. But
who are we to let that get in the way of retail therapy? Thankfully
(for us at least), the Swedish krona has fallen even harder than
we have, which means that, with a plethora of local labels like
J. Lindeberg and Acne alongside international reliables like your
Mulberrys, Guccis, and Bottega Venetas, Stockholm is now practically
like one enormous fashion sale.
So if a Dalston love-in, big-budget Germ-fest, or a spot of Parisian
lingerie appreciation don't do it for you here in London, what
better time to grab your partner for a cheeky break Sverige-style?

Cockburn's port
Entertaining friends outdoors is one of the joys
of summer, so make the most of it by serving a
quintessentially English glass of Cockburn's port.
Cockburn's has teamed up with Brook Hall Cookery
School to develop a series of recipes which you
and a plus one could learn to cook at the Seasonal
Dinner Party Course, including Stuffed Red Pepper
with Cous Cous and Gazpacho with Avocado Granita.

Diesel Black Friday
Been shopping with Monopoly money? Hoping nobody will notice your 'Bank of Me' notes? If driven to such desperate measures, you won't mind scrabbling around tube stations and street corners for wads of Diesel's Black Money - free illegal tender scattered around the city tomorrow as official currency at Diesel stores this weekend; three Golden tickets will pay off 99% of your shopping. Black Friday never looked so bright.

EAT & DRINK |

Imli
Bringing laid back, canteen-style dining
to the Indian restaurant world, Imli opened four years
ago and is still a popular pitstop for a spicy refuel
on the Soho circuit. And, as it's little sister to
the posher Tamarind restaurant, a quick bite here
needn't mean skimping on quality either: Chef Samir
Sadekar focuses on fresh, zingy flavours, including
a 'Light and Refreshing' section on the menu which
already features dishes in tapas size portions.
This month there's even more reason to pop in as, every night and every lunchtime, they're offering diners (in groups of two to four) the chance to win a golden ticket entitling them to an especially sumptuous spread and drinks on the house. So you could be enjoying unfeasible amounts of prawn and green mango salad with lime and ginger dressing and masala grilled pork with coriander and avocado sauce and turmeric mash, not forgetting as many Lychee Delight cocktails as you can shake a stick at (always baffles me that phrase, but I'll use it anyway).
If you're the lucky recipient those all you can eat curry buffets will never hold quite the same appeal - if they ever did in the first place, that is.

OF THE WEEK

Check out this week's classically-flecked soundtrack.

the stand-out tune is Skream's remix of La Roux's
catchy 'In For The Kill' that was released last
month.
