"What
kind of sadist would taunt us with London's
top boozey roof terraces," you ask, "while
it's spitting rain and sunshine in equal
measures?" Why, one with faith (and an
umbrella), that's who. |
|
First
up is always Shoreditch
House: pool, blankets, a Prosecco
I.V., and it's L.A. in a glass. Although
pool-less, the new(ish) rooftop at Soho
House isn't too bad for a post-work
glass either; though hit The
East Room's terrace if you're really
vine-inclined.
With BBB
failing to deliver, East's current non-members
roof du jour is The
Boundary. A delight of Conranian decking
and Med greenery, nab a futon by the open
stove and a half-carafe, and kiss goodbye
to the rest of your weekend. And whilst
only open for events (fingers crossed
this might change come summer), the faux-lawn
and gazebo atop The
Queen of Hoxton is a hidden oasis
of urban roof-party perfection.
Meanwhile, combating any Shoreditch monopoly,
what's not to love about Paradise's
cute terrace of al-fresco decking? But
for your vertiginous Soho cravings, we're
just loving the Sanctum's
gorgeous roof bar. Sure it's for guests
only, but with the level of service and
style they're touting, I'm seriously contemplating
moving in... if I could just find a buyer
for one well-used kidney in time for the
summer.
