Who
doesn't love a good hotel getaway? Even
if it's just a spa trip to escape the
city blues. But with Sanctum
Soho panned by
the New York Times for 'looking cheap'
and The
Savoy's refurb taking its time (is
the facelift being powered by the hotel's
leftover
food fuel concept?), we need new home-from-home
options. |
|
So
we're joining the Spears camp and heading
to The
Dorchester. With her Circus Tour hitting
the UK next month, Britters has provided
the hotel with a rider including freshly
cut flowers (which she will arrange herself,
natch) and 'topical chick lit novels'
in a room that has never been
smoked in.
Luckily for us, comfort comes in the
form of the spa's £3.2 million refurbishment
which opens for business today. A 1930s
style boudoir with 9 treatment rooms,
a relaxation room and a 'Spatisserie',
set around a chandelier comprising 75,000
South Pacific white pearls, the spa promises
exclusive treatments from facialist-to-the-stars
Vaishaly, Carol Joy London's precious
metal ingredients, and Kerstin Florian's
traditional healing.
