Even the Chelsea Flower Show is an excuse for a drink

|
We're huge fans of the PR machine, having been on the receiving end of enough bottles to start our own office bar and more fabulous products than we dare count. Yes, we are certainly lucky. |
|
But our favourites are the completely random associations brands make with any invented public holiday, date or event to push, push, push. A toy hamster, fresh pineapple, mini Oscar statuette and the mummified head of Jeremy Bentham, all delivered with the morning post, have sought to remind us, however obliquely, of new launches, products or brand names.
And speaking of obliquely, nothing gets
those creative juices flowing like a royal
shindig. The
Chelsea Flower Show has inspired the
creation of the 'first ever official'
Chelsea Flower Show cocktail at
Pearl, a tea and spa package appropriately
named 'Rose Renew' at the
Sanderson, floral-inspired desserts
at Aubaine
(chocolate & lavender macaroons) and edible
flowers at
Ghost Inc's South Kensington branch.
