Weekend Guide
theOutnet.com

It's that time of year when you can pretty much do away with that pesky Julian calendar with it's horridly impersonal numbers and just refer to weekends by their relative festival instead, from Glastonbury through to Field Day. Easy.

So tomorrow sees the start of Lovebox Weekend. And just on the off chance that you're not out in Vicky Park ensuring your candle is thoroughly scorched at both ends, here's a slew of all-sorts to keep you busy. Gracious, non?

FRIDAY

Nightlife The Paradox Club
Step through a rip in the fabric of time and enter a world where humans from 2000BC right through to 3000AD are trapped in a 1930s cocktail bar, and presided over by a husband and wife team who are none too happy with the situation. With plenty of scope for the dressing-up box and performances from A League of Illegal Seagulls and Uncle Bill's Travelling Time Disco, you'll be doing the Time Warp again, and again, and…

8pm-2am

145 Shoreditch High Street, E1 6JE

TONIGHT
Sanderson Predicts: Marina & The Diamons and Wolf Gang
So the stupidly rich have Lionel Richie playing in their 20 billion mansions. I guess I could ask Bloc Party to play a gig in my council flat - but it somehow doesn't sound as plush. Showcasing the coolest new kids in music land, in a divine courtyard, where you can book your own private table, Sanderson Predicts sounds like a pretty amazing alternative. This time around it's Modular and Neon Gold hosting the party, with killer live sounds by Wolf Gang and Marina And The Diamons.
7pm-12am. Free, but RSVP via 020 7300 1444

shopPeter Jensen Sample Sale
Yes, we completely fell for Peter Jensen's adorable bunny-themed Cruise Collection - but seeing as that won't be in our grasps for a good few months, we're stocking up on pieces from the last three seasons, including his gorgeous SS09 collection. T-shirts from £20, scarves from £30, and tops from just a fiver are on offer in the designer's Dalston studio this weekend. Expect a (very chic) queue and get there early.

LATER TONIGHT
Looking For Love In All The Wrong Place - After Space Party
Nike and our friends over at creative agency Protein have been working on some really hot stuff lately. With Looking For Love In All The Wrong Places they're launching a stunning exhibition by London artist INSA in association with the launch of the 2009 Air Maxim (for you non-sneaker-geeks, think an evolved '87 Air Max). The exhibition is on at 1948 in Shoreditch from Friday, but join the (invite only) private view's after party by RSVPing. (Just don't tell anyone else - it's meant to be a secret…)
Cordy House, 9:30pm-2:30am, rsvpcordy@protein.co.uk

You've seen the flyers. You've seen the posters. You've seen the insanely good line up. But, did you know you could do all these other cool things besides seeing Diplo, Gary Numan, Ladyhawke and Simian Mobile Disco? For instance, go sip a milkshake and join the first ever outdoor Bowling Championship. Or visit the enormous farmers' market with traders from Borough Market. Maybe a bit of barn-dancing? Or you can just get drunk? Oh, decisions.

Cost:
£42.50-£149

Any incidental body bleedage will only be out of sheer admiration.

PLAYLIST OF THE WEEK
Playlist July 15: Mixed Up
Laurent Garnier is coming with some Pay TV for you. Second single from his last album the original is like a 21st century Serge Gainsbourg with added dancefloor savvy. For the remix the Emperor Machine steps up to the plate first laying down his deliciously Kosmische vibes. A guaranteed floor-filler, The Emperor Machine teases out "Pay TV"s riffs building things up to a shuddering crescendo.
