We cried when we heard about Gatwick Fashion Week. Then we died a little inside when the High Street joined in. And now Ms. Wintour herself is giving us tonight’s Fashion’s Night Out free-for-all. Is nothing sacred? How will Editors feel superior if we’re democratising CLOTHES, for crying out loud? We’ll need the rest of the weekend to check out naked art, eat ice-cream and ogle ladyboys. Not necessarily all together, because that’s kind of pervy. We’re not animals.

Mr & Mrs Smith — In Bed With… Volume One
It's not everyday you get asked to get into bed with Lauren Laverne, or Urban Junkies’ very own Editor in Chief. But that’s what The Smiths have done, asking their favourite bon viveurs to reveal their bedtime musical secrets. The result is a surprising romp through a genre-hopping array of the classic and the contemporary, where Marc Almond, The dø, Neon Neon, Terry Callier and Television all turn out to be unpredictable but perfect bedfellows.

Longplayer
The longest piece of music ever written, ‘Longplayer’, lasts 1,000 years – meaning that if it were to play its last notes today, it would have been started on a lute. Alternatively if we started today, it would probably end on Mars. Mind-addling stuff. So, making it easier on ourselves, and our children, and our children’s children, tonight (Longplayer’s first ever live performance) takes a 1,000 minute segment and puts a 26-strong orchestra, and a 20-metre wide synthesiser, to the test.

Handel Remixed sees the composer’s arias get a thorough 21st Century reworking by some of today’s hottest film and music makers, including Michael Nyman, Jocelyn Pook and Craig Armstrong, performed by Countertenor David Daniels and the Academy of St Martin in the fields. Can I hear a Amen!
