Weekend Guide
UJ Banner

Eek – it’s a weekend kicking off with both Friday the thirteenth, AND the release of apocalyptic Mayan prophecy movie, 2012. So, in the spirit of doomsday conspiracies and chicken–licken ‘the world is falling on our heads’, we reckon it’s best to make the most of our last days! Go retro with hip–hop bowling, re–live Boot Camp in a musical vein, or stock up on purses for the ladies, and menswear for the boys – after all, one likes to look one’s best when meeting our maker.

DIA DE LOS MUERTOS
The blockbuster movie moment

Oh fine, we know Dia de los Muertos is over and done with for another year, but we just can’t let go. And for those of you astute (and sober) enough to have noticed the cameraman bobbing around last Tuesday’s party, here are the cinematic results in their full face–painted, tequila–toting, dancing, singing, munching, gurning glory. One for the grandchildren for sure.

SHOP
Mulberry’s Carousel Horses

Fashion designers’ show invitations often reflect the tone of their upcoming collections – albeit abstractly. UJThe Winners and Losers Quiz
Competitive types and those with self-esteem issues might want to think twice about a quiz that’s based on others’ failings and categorises you as either a winner or a loser. Real life quizzer sisters Ruth and Katy will have you in stitches digging deep into the failed pop careers of soap stars, the fashion trends that were never meant to be and the those Tomorrow's World gadgets that never caught on. The taking part counts, sure – but it’s the winning that really matters – after all, you’d hate to be the subject of a ‘losers’ quiz in twenty years time.

Time: 7pm-late
Place: The Fellow, (black door with black buzzer) 24 York Way, N1 9AA
Cost: £1
