Eek – it’s a weekend kicking off with both Friday the thirteenth, AND the release of apocalyptic Mayan prophecy movie, 2012. So, in the spirit of doomsday conspiracies and chicken–licken ‘the world is falling on our heads’, we reckon it’s best to make the most of our last days! Go retro with hip–hop bowling, re–live Boot Camp in a musical vein, or stock up on purses for the ladies, and menswear for the boys – after all, one likes to look one’s best when meeting our maker. |

Break ‘n’ Bowl
Take the laces out of your adidas trainers, slip on a tracksuit, rip the VW signs off your mama’s car and get yo’ asses down to a block rockin' tracksuit party with old school hip hop, break dancing, beat boxing, bowling and rapping karaoke to boot. Oh, and there's a 'gangsta' photobooth, whilst the cinema will be playing hip hop videos all night too. Don your best and brightest number for reduced entry, then hang your head in night-bus home shame. |

COMPETITION
Win tickets to Anish Kapoor Exhibition
The Indian Turner Prize winner’s solo show at the Royal Academy of Arts features serious sculptural pieces like the multi–reflective silver ball tower in the courtyard, as well as signature moving waxworks – check out Svayambh, a vast mass of wax working its way through Burlington House, and Shooting into the Corner – a wax bomb cannon whose efforts are building up in a corner doorway. UJ have ten pairs of tickets to give away – simply tell us: what does ‘svayambh’ actually mean?
Until 11th December, Royal Academy of Arts, Burlington House, W1J 0BD. £12.

DIA DE LOS MUERTOS
The blockbuster movie moment
Oh fine, we know Dia de los Muertos is over and done with for another year, but we just can’t let go. And for those of you astute (and sober) enough to have noticed the cameraman bobbing around last Tuesday’s party, here are the cinematic results in their full face–painted, tequila–toting, dancing, singing, munching, gurning glory. One for the grandchildren for sure.

Mulberry’s Carousel Horses
Fashion designers’ show invitations often reflect the tone of their upcoming collections – albeit abstractly. Which is why we’re so excited to have found the gorgeous Kaleidoscopic Carousel horse print used on Mulberry’s S/S 10 invites replicated on this pouch – a sure–fire Christmas hit that’ll get boys bonus points ‘til Summer. |
