Be thankful there’s not that much to tempt you from your righteous midweek path. Not in London. Never.
Oops.
So Sketch is kicking off a new slice of midweek, lace-donned, disco-to-krautrock distraction this Wednesday with Ceremony. Which is great because, aside from the décor, the afternoon tea and the charming, tall Irish manager who remembers everyone, we’d really a love a reason to revisit The Parlour again.
Out East, meanwhile, a certain well-known, flame-haired popstress is the latest in a short-but-impressive line-up of names to get the midweek mayhem rolling at Pizza East’s subterranean Concrete.
But if you’d still like to at least pretend that it’s a school night, then Future Human should be right up your alley. After all, where else can you mix “Advertising at the Frontiers of Consciousness” with a decent margarita? It’s like the School of Life Sermons, but mid-week, without the lecturer and with a cold, well-earned drink in your hand instead.
We’d never be so crass as to declare Wednesday the new Friday, nor even Tuesday the new Thursday. Instead, we’re just letting you know – out of respect – that Open Season has officially been declared on all days of the week. Yep. Monday through to Sunday, school night to weekend: all your hides are officially for the taking.
