Weekend Guide
UJ Banner

Ah the month of the Mad March Hare – coincidentally a character in this weekend’s big release which we have neatly sidestepped in our listings to give you an unadulterated Alice–free weekend (though if you’re in the mood we’d recommend BBB’s Mad Hatter Party!) Instead, and no less wondrous nor curious, we’ve lined up a Tarantino–themed bowling night, Japanese erotica with rooms for rent, some exercise for your credit card and a glimpse into the future, so you’ll know exactly what we’ll be saying next week. See, told you it was magical.

iconTarantino Goes Bowling
Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill and of course Inglorious Basterds – who’s not a fan of Tarantino’s violent vision of Americana? And whilst we’re not about to put a gun in your hands and say ‘have at it’, we are suggesting another weapon of choice – the bowling ball. Strike out tonight to the sounds of surf music by The Sundae Kups, catch up on Quentin’s best flicks, and dress as your favourite character for a cheap entry. And don’t forget; when you do it – you do it cool. Correctamundo.

iconEd Banger 7th Birthday
The Ed Banger 6 ½ Birthday Party in July (yes, a genius idea and more presents all around) was one of the biggest and best club events of 2009 – so why stop there? To celebrate their actual, annual birthday (like the rest of us regular sods), Ed Banger’s figurehead Busy P (ex–manager of Daft Punk) is bringing the gang, including Fake Blood, Riton and Sebastian back for another 8 hours of non–stop clubbing. All advance tickets are sold out so get to the door early.

Time 9pm-5am
Place: The Coronet Theatre, 28 New Kent Road, SE1 6TJ
Cost: £15

TONIGHT
Gabby Young and Other Animals

Launching her new single ‘Ones That Got Away’ comes Gabby Young with 8–piece band Other Animals after the debut release of her first album, ' We’re All In This Together.' Expect jazz, gypsy folk and lots of soul from the red–head who is making waves in the music world. Young has just come back from Paris Fashion Week, and judging from her performances, is not afraid of a bit of Gaga-esque showmanship with outfits to match.

Bloomsbury Ballroom,
37–63 Bloomsbury Square, WC1 B 4DA, 7:30pm, £11.

SHOP
BAPE Leopard Camo Second Release

They’re back for Spring, and all ready to get you geared up for your travels. If you’re as tired of frou frou flowery toiletry bags and cases as we are, this may be the answer. Incorporating the ‘Ape Head’ logo with traditional leopard print camouflage, there’s no tougher way to say ‘Darling, I’m just popping to the bathroom to freshen up after the flight.’ Grrr.

PLAYLIST
Playlist 5th March

Take it down a notch with this week’s playlist which features just about the most dreamy version of Britney’s Toxic we’ve ever heard, as well as old school favourite Dire Straits and The Beach Boys (remixed of course) and that back–in–the–day party track Around the World. Memories – David Guetta's got that right anyway.
