Whilst there's something fun and kitschy about a diner with its stacks of pancakes, red linoleum banquettes and chequerboard floors traversed by frilly-aproned waitresses called Shirley, we can't help but feel we're missing out on something older, purer and well, down and dirty in old Americana. Like the trash-talkin' trailer joints where undercover vamps wanna 'do bad things to you' and everyone gets a little rowdy after too many shots. Or for the more gentile amongst you, the deep South blues bars complete with funky jazz ensembles, home cookin' and Jack on tap.

So, as a break from the norm we're teaming up with The Blues Kitchen to throw a 'Stars and Stripes, All American Party' on Wednesday, March 10th, and we want you to join us!

There'll be free JD cocktails for the parched, including the Lynchburg Lemonade and Strawberry Collins, food platters stuffed with Buffalo Wings, Sweet Potato Wedges, Mini Burgers and Corn Bread, and fantastic live music by Daniel Jeanrenaud - The Camden Cat. A local rock'n'roll hero, this French version of Chuck Berry (now there's an entente cordiale) will keep you dancing, jiving and rocking into the small hours. And if that's not enough, hot-step it to the dance floor for Rhythm & Blues from the Blues Kitchen resident DJs. So whad'yall say to donning some stars and stripes (or Harley Davidson t-shirts, denim and the odd neckerchief) and joining us there? We may not have maple syrup on the side, but we sure as hell are fixing to have us a damn fine time - so invite your mates and get ready for a serious throw-down!
