It must be summer – because we can’t walk for foreign troupes of school kids clogging up the streets, and trying to travel anywhere near the vicinity of the Chelsea Flower Show left one UJ–er stuck on a bus and sweating like a rotisserie chicken for two hot hours yesterday. But thankfully it’s a bank holiday weekend and there’s plenty to keep you distracted from (and out of the way of) the hoards (including the presumably massive SATC 2 gangs ready to attack the nation’s cinemas). SO, embrace the New Busy – as Hotmail are so succinctly putting it with their weirdly wonderful events today and tomorrow – take in a little indecent exposure, call balls with an OAP, go to bed with Kubrick, head to the Circus and dig out your best trackie bottoms; and by the time you wake up on Tuesday, they’ll all be gone. We wish.

SHOP
Louis Vuitton Maison
Oh fine, it’s a little label–whorey but we just can’t resist a huge, towering block of LV, so shoot us. The new Bond Street store opens tomorrow and promises to be their most luxurious to date with bridge entrance, massive glass staircase and LED panels showing collabs with the likes of Takashi Murakami and Richard Prince. There’ll be exclusive London–only items on sale, a ‘Librarie’ stocked with specially commissioned art tomes by Chris Ofili and Anish Kapoor, and the men even get a ‘club lounge’ to chillax in post–shop, whilst ladies can pillage the incoming Pre–Fall collection. We heart.
17 - 20 New Bond Street.

THE WORLD OF NEW BUSY
Hotmail gets busy with a series of weirdly wonderful events today and tomorrow
If you don’t have a hotmail account you clearly weren’t living, breathing and eating the internet back in its infancy hey–day – so to remind you who’s boss, Hotmail are bringing us ‘The New Busy.’ Aside from their up–to–the–minute online offerings, they’re also throwing a series of kooky events around the city today and tomorrow, featuring finger knitting, con–artists, sideways guitar players (yes, really), break dancers (with a little morris thrown in), throat singing, massage and circus acts. Get in on the action today at Canary Wharf, and tomorrow at Broadgate Arena.

APPLETON BARTENDER’S CHALLENGE
Check out the photos from Monday’s Jamaican Rum event
A big thank you to all the lovely UJers that turned out in force to join us at Floridita on Monday night for the Appleton Estate Bartender’s Challenge. Drinks were imbibed from three top–notch finalists’ bars, music came courtesy of the fantastic Jazz Trio, entertainment from the stellar MC, someone won a trip to Jamaica (not us, grrr) and who didn’t love the meaty pasties and banana–date puddings? If you weren’t lucky enough to make it, or you were there and want to relive it all again – check out the UJ photo gallery from the night.

RESERVED ABROAD
This week’s hottest foodie destination
Zuma Miami
Glam contemporary Japanese arrives in party central
270 Biscayne Boulevard Way, Miami, Florida, 33131 USA – +44 305 577 0277 www.zumarestaurant.com
Location
Installed in the riverside EPIC Hotel & Residences in downtown Miami with views of Biscayne Bay from the terrace cum al fresco lounge, it doesn’t get much more vida loca-fabulous than this.
Vibe
The first US outpost of Rainer Becker and co.’s sleek and sexy contemporary Japanese restaurant group – after London came Hong Kong, Istanbul and Dubai – the place should fit in just peachily with the area’s steamy nightlife culture. The hotel has its own Miami Vice–style private dock too, so you can zoom in by speedboat if need be.
Flavours
Zuma and Roka (Becker’s marginally more slouchy brand) fans will be happy to see the familiar open Robata grill, inspired by the barbecue style cooking of Northern Japanese fishermen and ever popular with counter–diners who like to watch the action unfold. Expect flippingly fresh seafood like the roast lobster with shiso-ponzu butter, prime cuts like beef tenderloin with sesame, red chili and sweet soy and a proliferation of various sushi, sashimi and tempura– oh, and the famous dessert ‘boats’ laden with sorbets and tropical fruit. Cool down with one of the 40 different types of sake or a shochu cocktail..
Décor
Regular design partner Noriyoshi Muramatsu has been brought in once more to recreate the signature wood and earth–toned, amber lit interior that complements the informal ‘Izakaya’ style of the place and has helped lend the group its luxey ambience.
Upshot
Since the first Zuma opened in Knightsbridge in 2002 (still going strong, it recently hosting the Brompton Road Top Shop launch) the name has been synonymous with glitzy, top notch dining, so much so that they’ve converted many a die-hard Nobu fan. Miami and Zuma go together like chocolate fondant and green tea ice cream. We’re booking our flights now.
