If you're fed up with the usual off-the-rack samey suits, you'll love the launch of DAKS' Made to Measure service with bespoke trousers, jackets and suits on offer. Following a consultation with one of their personal tailoring experts, where you can choose from over 300 luxury fabrics and discuss your personal style, they'll take your measurements, offer advice on design options and hey presto — 4-6 weeks later you'll be invited back in store to see a qualified fitter for minor alterations and adjustments. Suits you, Sir.

All Made to Measure suits are made in Italy and start from £1,450. The service has already launched in DAKS, 10 Old Bond Street and will be available in the Jermyn Street store from 28th October.

Yoomoo at Harrods

Yes, frozen yogurt really has been done to absolute death. So it would take something a little different to catch our attention at all — specifically, a family of cows and a line-up of gourmet sounding flavours with a tongue-in-cheek twist. Now available at Harrods, Yoomoo offers yummy sounding Belgian chocolate and Madagascan vanilla scoops, twisted together, blended into a smoothie or stacked with naughty and nice munchies. We like the sound of the Spookymoo — a pumpkin pie flavoured moo with popping candy and chocolate buttons on top. Chew that creative cud.

Chewing Gum Factory

If Willy Wonka's factory is your idea of a dirty fantasy, you'll love the latest installation courtesy of food magicians Bompas & Parr The experience starts with a trip into the flavour laboratory, a dark, cave-like space filled with jam jars containing smells from hot dog (disgusting) and fish (retch) to vanilla and mango. Choose your perfect pairing, don an apron and pop into the kitchen next door where you'll mix, colour and roll your very own gum before stacking it into a perfect little take-away box; we came away with gin & lemon (we know, we know...) and cotton candy & coconut. Try the coffee & cigarettes flavour — surprisingly good.

Liquid Cashmere

Thought the days of outdoor dining and terrace tipples were over? Think again, preferably from inside the cosy cashmere warmth of your very own blanket. Aqua is offering a cosy outdoor atmosphere for diners this winter with warming cocktails and hot hand-held bowls of Spanish and Japanese dishes from its Nueva and Kyoto restaurants on offer. Order up the hot Kyoto toddy with ginger, or the Solera Whisper served in a sake jar with sweet Spanish Sherry, Bourbon and grated nutmeg, cloves and cinnamon.

Big Dirty Engine: Ride On

We love this latest venture from the clever kids at Jaguar Shoes — a boutique record label which pairs up honest, ballsy, lofi appeal musical acts with a Jaguar Shoes Collective artist to create beautiful, bespoke releases. The first is Nick Jaguar's own white vinyl 10 inch single, Ride On, which promises to take you on a journey to darkest America with sleeve artwork by Stevie Gee in a limited edition of 250. There'll also be 1000 free cassettes (kinda sad now the Walkman's singing its Sony swansong) circulating in 8 different coloured editions around stores and taped to doors and bikes.

Location
The smaller, scruffier brother of the newer, more polished Soho branch that boasts Dick Bradsell in the bar, this louche little outpost, tucked under the ultra-urban Westway has its own cult following.

Vibe
I'd been meaning to visit one of these groovy Mexicans when they were called El Camino (they recently changed the name to save confusion with Camino in King's Cross). Everyone had urged me to head to Soho but I ended up at Portobello on a whim last week not entirely sure what to expect. After ten minutes of drinking cadillac margaritas from paper cups, nodding along to Elvis and being so close to the kitchen I could see the sweat glistening on chef Luis' forehead, I was sold.

Flavours
As far as I'm concerned, food from this part of the world isn't meant to be gourmet — that's the beauty of it. As long as the it's fresh and well seasoned (which the guacamole, shredded pork tostadas and jalapeno poppers certainly were on the night I went) and the tequila flows, a top notch cantina should be just as much about the atmosphere, which isn't lacking here.

Décor
The plastic fantastic-ness of the venue — from the cutlery and tablecloths to the baskets the food comes in — is half the charm. The other half is the size. With a total of five small tables (which are first come first serve), you have no option other than to be on top of each other — always a good ice-breaker — or hang outside with cool, fag-smoking 'kids'. Crammed with kitsch memorabilia, it's the perfect intimate location for Dio de los Muertos (unless you are coming to UJ's party tonight) (1st and 2nd Nov), which, needless to say, always ends up being colourful.

Upshot
Owned by Sir Terence's youngest and most wayward son Ned Conran, and his wife Sage, El Camion, and particularly this one, has an appealing insouciance that too few other foodie hotspots share. Manager Tom is also poised to start home deliveries on his push-bike within a 1 mile radius. Whether he wears his lucha libre mask whilst doing so is yet to be seen, but it could bring a whole other meaning to trick or treat.
