Jazz-hands! We're having all kinds of interpretive fun this weekend as The Jazz Festival continues apace at the same time as new bar No. 92 at the Notting Hill Brasserie opens with a NYC style live jazz set-up. We're going up high with Kensington Roof Gardens' Jazz FM musical nights, subterranean with Cuban cartoons at Aubin's cinema, and hitting everything from dark street art and Soviet satire in between, as well as improvising a nice little weekend away here and there. Pretty jazzy, eh?

INTERNATIONAL
Bernhard Willhelm Sale

Hopping on the Eurostar could see you arrive in Paris within two hours – so now all you need is a reason, right? How about this Bernhard Willhelm stock sale, which promises discounts on some of the German designer's kookiest creations. We love Spring/Summer 2010's tribal-tiki prints and big bold shapes for her (perfect for next year's holiday wardrobe), and the camo grunge graphics for him.

Saturday November 20th and Sunday November 21st. 5bis rue des Haudriettes, end of courtyard, 75003 Paris. Door code: A07B11.

ART: Richard Hambleton: New York
We've heard the 'Godfather of Street Art' is something of a recluse, preferring to indulge in the darker side of life rather than face the light – so this solo show of Pop Expressionism (in collaboration with Armani and curated by Vladimir Restoin Roitfeld no less), should be interesting. Check out his Shadowmen, Rodeo riders, Mass murder victims, and the polar opposite 'Beautiful Paintings'. Whether you'll see the man himself is very much up for debate.

With all this jazz in the atmosphere we thought it only apt that we take it out to the open air – or at least adjacent to the Kensington Roof Gardens' beautiful terraced space. Face the freeze from the comfort of the cushy bar, where tonight's Friday night live music programme in association with Jazz FM features performances from young gun Mike Hough and singer-songwriter Sarah Whatmore.

MUSIC: One Day
The Times are charging us online (pah, the cheek), the Independent's got its new 'i' edition out, and we're slowly growing more dependent on our Wednesday AM 'Stylist' fix. So, to mix it up, this Jazz Festival performance by Matthew Herbert presents an entire edition of the Guardian, using the London Sinfonietta to sound his way from the recipe pages and sporting news to political scandals. Sadly the news of Kate (or 'Katherine' now she's pre-Windsor) and Will's engagement comes too late to be included – but we reckon an off-tune trumpet toot of boredom would do it.

Time: 7:30pm
Place: Royal Festival Hall, Belvedere Road, SE1 8XX
Cost: £10-£20

OPERA: A Dog's Heart
Ever feel like you're being treated like a dog? Been called a b*tch lately? Then you're totally on trend, as this brand new version of Mikhail Bulgakov's satire previews in London tonight. The opera centres around a stray dog made human at the hands of a disturbed professor, written as a damning send-up of the Soviet man. Man's best friend? Depends who's got the bigger bark.

Time: 7:30pm
Place: London Coliseum, 8 St Martins Lane, WC2N 4ES
Cost: £11-£50

SPOTTED
Barbie Foot

'Tis the season to a) stay inside and take 'exercise' on pool tables and foosball machines, and b) corral your other half into funding terribly expensive, slightly pointless gifts. We're loving the 'Play' theme of The Wonder Room at Selfridges this Christmas, which includes this rather fabulous 'Barbie Foot' table. Team UJ's so inspired we've been working on armless-immortalisation as we speak, and we reckon we'd be a darn sight cheaper too.

£10,000, Selfridges Wonder Room, 400 Oxford Street, W1A.

This week’s hottest foodie destination

Hakkasan
London's sexiest contemporary Cantonese comes to Mayfair.

17 Bruton Street, W1J 6QB - 020 7907 1888
www.hakkasan.com

Location
Ah, Bruton Street. Once home to a few fusty old galleries, with The Square the only glam spot for the suited and booted. Now it's fashion and funky art central - Mr Williamson, Ms McCartney and Tyrone Wood's Scream gallery all vying for attention - so Hakkasan are bang on the money slipping in next to Jack Barclay.

Vibe
Slicker, sexier and even more fabulous than the Michelin-starred Hanway Place original, the new site is sure to be a magnet for Asian food-loving beautiful people (do the two ever not go hand in hand?). The ground floor is designed for relaxed lunching by day and DJ-accompanied bar lounging in the evening, while downstairs there's more room to get on with some serious chowing.

Flavours
The new Mayfair premises has a kitchen twice the size of Bloomsbury's, all the better for Exec Chef Tong Chee Hwee and his team to prepare old favourites such as superior dim sum and roast silver cod, as well as new dishes like black truffle roast duck and steamed New Zealand mini lobster. And it's virtually compulsory to start the evening with an expertly-made cocktail like the citrussy Hakkatini.

Décor
Though the design is familiarly Liagre-esque this time Guillame Richard is responsible for the modern, opium-den chic brought about by dark, carved wood,
and embroidered banquettes. For groups of up to 14 there is a rather saucy red lacquer private room and, heck, even the loos feel decadent.

Upshot
David Bailey and the Le Bons have already partied here, although the restaurant only officially opens today, and despite the fact that founder Alan Yau is no longer on board attention to detail doesn't seem to have suffered. So go; eat, drink and get your swag on. It is the season to, after all.
