Hitting the sartorial high–note for the latest swarm of masculine retail solutions, today sees Mr Porter finally opening its highly–anticipated digital doors. We’ve been tracking the emails, the Founding Member invitations and re-invitations for months now. But finally it’s here…
Yves Saint Laurent, Mulberry, Church’s, Cutler & Gross – the regulars are all in attendance. As are some fabulous younger offerings including B Store, Rick Owens and the soon–to–hit Mr. Bathing Ape range (and what’s with this “Mr So–and–So” trend?).
Now if you really want to push the fashion envelope further still, LFW’s iconic men’s slot, MAN, is exploding on Wednesday with a veritable assault team of up–and–coming design talent with Felipe Rojas Llanos, New Power Studio and Martine Rose taking centre–stage.
If this feels a little too fashion for you fashionistos, don’t worry. While not exclusively male, Chuc’s Dive and Mountain Shop – the new label from Charles Finch (GQ columnist and apparently grandson to the mountaineering inventor of the puffa jacket) – is bringing some serious old–school style to the gent’s modern essentials, from knitwear to shorts and a tasty wee Giles Deacon print collab.
So, sartorially sleek to surf–chic is the fashion worm finally turning for us chaps? It sure looks that way.
