Music, makes the people, come togeeeeeether. Alright, Madge is right but we’re not lunging around the office in a leotard, don’t worry. We are feeling super musical this weekend though, with Miami’s WMC kicking off and Austin’s SXSW on the horizon, it’s time to get in tune. Check out blues and big bands at a Mardi Gras party, do your bit for the ladies with Paloma and Annie, invest in vinyl, do it Vegas style, and watch a film for the super soundtrack. Hey Mr DJ – put a record on.

TODAY
Brora Clearance Sale
We know it’s looking a little like Spring but to be honest, the office heating is still on and we’re wearing sweaters with our shades. So it’s not a totally ridiculous idea to stock up on beautiful cashmere and woolens from knitwear brand Brora (especially as they recently launched their sleek new flagship just off Sloane Street – pop into neighbouring White Company and make a terribly posh day of it). Up to 60% off for men, women and children. We’re thinking matching Fair Isle knits for the whole fam. No?
Today 10am-8pm, Friday 11th: 10am-7pm, Saturday 12th: 10am-4pm.
Chelsea Old Town Hall, Kings Road, SW3 5UR. |

TONIGHT
Mardi Gras at Blues Kitchen
We love a proper party atmosphere, and nothing kicks it quite like Mardi Gras. So, get gussied up and head down to the Blues Kitchen where they’re throwing a New Orleans style shindig tonight, complete with marching band, live jump blues and jazz, and plenty of rhythm & blues, rock ‘n’ roll, latin and soul. Easy on those cocktail ladies, or you’ll end up with more beads than clothes.
9pm-2am, 111-113 Camden High Street, NW1 7JN, Free before 10pm, £3 after. |

The Vinyl Factory
Ditch digital this weekend and embrace something a little old school. The Vinyl Factory are moving their beautiful art and music limited edition collectibles into a physical space at St Martins Lane Hotel for three months. There’ll be a series of new editions launched, changing exhibitions and a selection of music releases for vinyl-lovers to browse through and buy. They’ve already worked with Massive Attack, Grace Jones, Hot Chip and Mumford & Sons, and we’re excited for the limited edition box set of music from ‘The Most Incredible Thing’, the forthcoming Sadler’s Wells ballet scored by the Pet Shop Boys – sure to be a future collector’s item. Can’t download that off iTunes now, can you.
Launches today at St Martins Lane Hotel, 45 St Martins Lane, WC2N 4HX. |

INTERNATIONAL
South by Southwest
We’re feeling everything musical in the office this week, as half of the team prepares to jet off to Miami, and the other half are dreamily donning our Stetsons in tribute to the SXSW festival taking place in Austin, Texas. Why so wishful? We like the mix of music, tech and film screenings as well as informative talks – Pepsi are doing a social media ‘innovation station’ and playground, Samsung a blogger’s lounge and NASA are tweeting from their Discovery shuttle launch. Then there’s the ‘Your Meetings Suck and It’s Your Fault’ seminar. Tough but true.
