Prepare to scare. This weekend we've put together an All Hallows' Eve special: we've got Halloween eats, films, parties, products and competitions (costumes are compulsory throughout). Go for a double party-whammy on both Friday and Saturday, then put yourself back together on Sunday with some surf 'n' turf and a trashy horror. Then, onto the following week for masquerade parties, "Yelloween" and Beetlejuice.

BLACK SWAN HALLOWEEN |
Sanderson Halloween |
Head to Sanderson's Black Swan Halloween party for a more sophisticated dress-up party (less blood and fake teeth, more feathers and tutus). The Courtyard will be transformed into a gothic fantasyland, where Black Swan-esq ballerinas will dance behind a backdrop of lace while a magician entertains the crowd. |

PARTY:
Hot Creations presents Halloween Fright Night |
Kick off the scary festivities at Loft Studios (and head to Supperclub's Disco Slaughterhouse for a pre-party). Their intimate autumn music series begins with a Halloween special tonight. Parisian techno kingpin Dan Ghenacia will headline, followed by Circo Loco heavyweight Dyed Soundorom – the two forged a partnership at DC10 this summer – and London's Robin Ordell. Oh, and the party will face out onto Willesden graveyard for extra spookiness. |
Underground house and techno label Hot Creations are holding their very own fright night this year. Only one half of the influential duo will be there – Lee Foss, minus Mr Jamie Jones – but he'll be joined by a wealth of talent. Richy Ahmed will bring his disco-techno-funk-hiphop-inspired house, followed by Robert James' nu-school sounds and Mark Jenkyns' funky bassline. Hit the dance floor, kitted out.

Buddha Bar's Yelloween |
The world-class Buddha Bar (there are branches everywhere from Paris to Monte Carlo, Caracas to Mexico City) has finally touched down in London town. The restaurant-bar-lounge offers an exciting mix of Pacific Rim cuisine (Chinese, Japanese and Thai included) blended with Western influences: think venison tataki and smoked duck and foie gras gyoza. They're currently in soft launch mode but are hosting a private Yelloween party with Veuve Cliquot next Wednesday with DJ Ravin, Amber Le Bon and Becky Tong. Dress code: yellow and/or scary. |
We're giving away 2 pairs of tickets to the private Yelloween event on October 31. For a chance to win simply email competition@urbanjunkies.com with your name and number by Monday October 29. |

PARTY:
Zombie Soundsystem Cadenza Party at Westbourne Studios |
Secretsundaze – but this time on a Saturday and in the evening (it is Halloween, after all). Their 'Asylum Party' will be suitably held in a huge warehouse off Curtain Road, hosting an array of deep house and techno acts. Get lost to techno big hitter Shed, sashay to the funk-fuelled grooves of San Proper or simply get down to London's very own BLM and residents Giles Smith and James Priestley. Any of the masks above will do for costume. |
After an extensive refurb, Westbourne Studios are now good to go. Under the helm of DJ Seb Fontaine, the club will host new DJ talent (there's a new soundsystem), cultural and art events (there's also a hidden cinema) and a new members' club (£99 a year). This weekend, they're teaming up with Cadenza for a Zombie Soundsystem smasher (for non-members too), offering up underground house music, a horror soundscape and zombie photobooth. Fancy dress is essential, and there'll even be a secret afterparty from 6am.

Noshable presents Hell Night at Ben's Canteen |
The third installment of Noshable's monthly residence at Ben's Canteen is spectacularly ghoulish. Channelling the spirit of Massachusetts' East Coast Grill Hell Night, they'll be serving up a similarly devilish spread. The Rib Man will provide 'suicide' wings tossed in 'holy f*ck' buffalo sauce, while Ernesto Lambrada will make his signature Cuban stew of shredded beef brisket. Drinks come from Sipsmith and are aptly named Swamp Water Punch, while dessert (pumpkin pie and squirty cream) comes from Gelupo and ex-Hummingbird Caroline Geaney.

EAT:
Hawksmoor Air Street |
FILM:
Paranormal Activity 4 |
Hawksmoor have just opened in Piccadilly. The Art Deco space comes complete with a Claridge's Fumoir-esque bar and a huge brass wall constructed from reclaimed lifts. They have the usual steak offerings, but there's another focus on the menu: seafood (by The Seahorse chef Mitch Tonks). Expect turbot, monkfish, John Dory and Dover sole simply grilled over coal, as well as a large selection of shellfish – and an extensive white wine list. It's in soft launch now with the big opening on November 1. Surf 'n' turf just got cool again.
It's no cinematic masterpiece (and neither were 1, 2 and 3) but it's just the tonic for a scary Halloween watch. The story goes much along the same line as the others: suburbia, strange neighbours, weird happenings and scary footage – and a few creepy children thrown in for good measure. Alternatively, you could always stay in and rent a 90s slasher – we were thinking the Scream quartet. |

He's shot for the likes of British, French, American and Italian Vogue, W, Vanity Fair and The New Yorker, and done ad campaigns for Valentino, Mulberry and Hermès. Now, one of fashion's most influential photographers, Tim Walker, is exhibiting at Somerset House in line with the launch of his new book. Expect colourful, dream-like images – like Tilda Swinton in Reykjavik, Agyness Deyn amongst Namibian sand dunes and Karlie Kloss with Humpty Dumpty. There will also be props and models on display, including the scary giant dolls used for the infamous Italian Vogue shoot. |
