Weekend Guide

---

Happy Movember. We’ve got a mixture of indoor and outdoor happenings this weekend as we appreciate some of you might not want to venture outside. Cosy up with a French film, enjoy a game lunch or a classic menú del día done Pizarro style. Otherwise head to an Ibiza-esque party, embrace Bonfire night or get in some weekend learning with a talk. Or you could always stay in with a good coffee table book (or four).

FRIDAY

FILM:
Rust and Bone
  PARTY:
Clive Henry x Alex Arnout
at The Nest

Jacques Audiard’s first film since the highly-acclaimed A Prophet tells the tale of an unlikely relationship between a whale trainer (Marion Cotillard) and a homeless, single father struggling to make ends meet as a fighter (Matthias Schoenaerts) in the Côte d’Azur. Expect high-octane drama, an unpredictable storyline, beautiful visuals and knockout performances.   If you’re still clinging to IBZ times, then head to The Nest tonight where DC10 resident Clive Henry (of Crosstown Rebels) will headline alongside Hot Creations’ Alex Arnout. Bristol-based maven Artifact will also make an appearance – he’s currently making some big waves in the UK underground house, techno and bass scene so get ready for some hedonistic fun.

SATURDAY

EAT:
The Wild Game Co.
at The Endurance
  FIREWORKS:
Battersea Park Fireworks

We’re fans of street food pop ups in pubs this time of year (see Disco Bistro). The Wild Game Co., which won the street food prize at the Young British Foodies’ 2012 Awards, is going into Soho institution The Endurance for a meaty three-month residency. The seasonal, changing menu will include things like pulled boar cooked in soy sauce and star anise, sticky BBQ wings with burnt lettuce, deep-fried pheasant and venison burger dumplings.   Remember, remember the fifth (or third) of November. Head to Battersea Park for the firework display of the weekend. Pains Fireworks - who’ve designed for Disney and the Olympic Torch Relay - are behind the "London Celebrates" show. Wrap up warm and enjoy fire acts, mulled wine, toffee apples and a bonfire before the main event. And look out for our competition on Monday for more fireworks at a Bonfire Ball with Rudimental…
