We're finally getting into some (light) partying this weekend: a slumber party, a daytime danceathon and some new sounds. We can't stay in hibernation forever. Other than that we've got bar food, a new residency and a pop up on the food front. And shellfish, lots of shellfish. |

Art Basel HK |
First there was Basel, then Miami, and now Hong Kong has been added to the big art bill. They've just announced the line-up of galleries that will show, and 50% are from Asia and the Asia Pacific region, which should give the show a different tone to its predecessors. We're booking into the Mandarin Oriental pronto. |

EAT:
HAWKSMOOR AIR STREET
BAR MENU |
PARTY:
B-SIDE AT NOTTING HILL
ARTS CLUB |
If you're looking for the lighter side of eating out, Hawksmoor Air Street's latest bar menu could be just the tonic. The menu offers bar classics – pickled cockles, soused pilchards, fried Queenie (small scallops) and a Brixham crab sandwich – as well as a selection of oysters: Cornish rock, Colchester natives (both served with sausages) and fried rock with tartar sauce. The menu will be expanded next month – we hear a burger may be on the horizon. Pull up a pew and order a Chablis. |
We've been sad since YoYo left the NHAC, but we think we've finally got a reason to go back. For their first session of 2013, Scratch (a 1996 hip hop club in King's Cross) and B-Side join forces to present Red Bull Music Academy grad Kidkanevil and his brand of "imaginary hip hop" – he blurs the lines between hip hop, future beats, jazz and jungle – who'll be taking over West London's loudest basement. |

AGENDA PICK |
Juergen Teller: Woo at ICA |
The king of contemporary photography, Juergen Teller, presents his work for the first time in the UK at the ICA next week. He has defined a generation through his commercial photography of the 90s and celebrity portraiture, which often subverts the beauty of its subjects. Expect everything from the famed Sinead O'Connor single cover and Marc Jacobs campaigns to snaps of Kate Moss, Kurt Cobain and muse Charlotte Rampling. |

Reserve now for Story |
Diaries out: you're going to want to pencil this in. The highly anticipated debut restaurant Story from famed young chef Tom Sellers, who cut his teeth at Tom Keller's French Laundry and Per Se, Tom Aikens and Noma, opens in March. The menu is simple yet technical (key dishes include "bread and dripping", in the form of a beef fat candle). Three-course lunch (£28), 6- or 10-course dinner tasting menus are all available (£45 and £65). |

The reservation line opens at 9am on Friday 1st February To book call 0207 183 2117 or visit the website

SLEEPOVER:
IN BED WITH LITTLE GAY BROTHER |
If you're not up to speed, Ben Spalding (ex-Roganic) has ended his residency at John Salt ahead of schedule and passed the torch onto Neil Rankin, former head chef of Pitt Cue Co. The menu will be largely smoke- or fire-cooked, with Cornish-sourced seafood and meat featuring heavily. Starters are interesting combos (like oysters with lardo and bacon dashi), while mains include coal baked crab, green chilli poussin and rare breed beef. Sides are trendy: chicken skin hash and frites with pulled pork, kimchi and cheese. |
Dig out your two-piece sets and satins and prepare for some pillow-fighting-top-bunk fun at Dalston Superstore's first ever 80s-themed slumber party, hosted by Little Gay Brother (the sleepover is big in New York right now). Horse Meat Disco's Severino headlines in the laser basement with Chris Camplin, while resident Terry Vietheer is joined upstairs by Bright Light Bright Light and David Oh. Audi A3 Sportback Test Drive |

Sponsored listing |

I sent my car to the graveyard earlier this year. It was long overdue, but heart wrenching nonetheless. Seeing your only child being picked up by a crane and hauled away to its fate is never nice… So when Audi randomly called and asked if someone wanted to come to test the new A3 Sportback, we thought this must be fate. Everyone around the office immediately said I had to go. Me with all the moto-journos. It would be funny. And they were right. |

EAT:
MUSSEL MEN |
PARTY:
SHIFTLESS SHUFFLE AT
EAST VILLAGE |
Mobile moules frites service Mussel Men are setting up a pop up shack at Fabrica584 this weekend. The simple menu offers a kilo pot of moules frites plus four oysters (or dessert) for two with a bottle of Prosecco from wine purveyors Seleziona Zanotto. If you can't go to the sea… bring it to Dalston. Stay up to date with their upcoming mussel movements here. |
Nothing like a daytime jazz shakedown on a Sunday. DJ Harv joins Patrick Forge (one of the original Dingwall Sunday afternoon DJs alongside Gilles Peterson) and host Perry Louis at East Village for the Shiftless Shuffle. It kicks off with a dance sesh followed by an afternoon of unadulterated jazz dance: bebop, fusion, latin, afro and lots of jazz funk. Think of it as a different approach to weekend partying (and you'll be in bed at an acceptable hour). |

DO NOT DISTURB |
It's a pug's life |
Bailiffscourt Hotel & Spa, Climping, West Sussex, BN17 5RW |
In A Sentence |
Posh, rural, classic English, dog-friendly digs. |
Vibe |
Peaceful, soothing – and highly WASPy. We got some snooty looks from "ladies who drink high tea" types (pugs and Nikes perhaps don't translate here) but we did make friends with a King Charles Cavalier and another pug called Dudley. Staff are warm and welcoming – and available to look after your dog during spa or dinner time should you wish. |
Highlights |
The spa is standout. Housed in a reconstructed barn loaded with floor-to-ceiling windows, it's part Scandi-, part Cali-cool. Inside, expect the usual pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room, while outside there's a steaming heated pool (it stays open through the colder months) and a wooden hot tub. Other highlights include the walk to Climping beach, breakfast and the wine list. |
