THE MULTI MODEL

Upstairs, Downstairs

The eternal problem: you're in a club craving some good food. Or, you're out for dinner and fancy an impromptu party but queues are long and tickets sold out. If you're not a member of Shoreditch House then it's slim pickings: there are few places in the capital where you can get everything you want under one roof. Enter the Multi Model. Much like Paris' Wanderlust these multi-functional, multi-storey, multi-fun spaces offer the whole package and they're being built up (quite literally) everywhere.

First up is the father of this model: the members' club. We've got two hush-hush openings in the pipeline. We can't say more at this point except the first, a four-floored behemoth on Kingsland Road, is taxidermy galore, has a reasonable membership fee, and is currently open to friends and family, so stay tuned. Meanwhile, we hear the wallpaper's gone up in Jonathan Downey's latest East London space. What we know: it will have a late license, music, bar, diner, street food kiosk and private members' lounge and subterranean wine room downstairs.

Then comes the fashion brigade. During LFW, eclectic store LN-CC will unveil an extension that includes a new accessories and footwear space, hospitality area and bar Chameleon. At the same time, global club Apartment 58's home-away-from-home (pictured) will take over four storeys of Centre Point complete with The Convenience Store, a gallery space with 58 curated items.

As for culture, March will see the arrival of LimeWharf, a multidisciplinary gallery and cultural lab in Hackney showcasing artists, scientists and kicking off with a three-week food season.

Until then we'll just have to do the taxi route from home to gallery to dinner to bar to club to Duck and Waffle.
