Everyone seems to be loving hats, rum, fried food, neon and noodles at the moment – and that's exactly what we've got on the agenda this weekend. Enjoy a fashion exhibition followed by rum cocktails at a hidden pop up on Friday, Gizzi Erskine's deep-fried takeover of Disco Bistro on Saturday, and a light exhibition and homemade noodles on Sunday. Oh, and we've thrown in one Valentine's offering (no clichés, we promise). |

Valentine's Day enthusiasts take note: Baron Von Fancy's tongue-in-cheek sweet nothings are the way to go. The New York artist, whose work pays homage to the sign-painter artists of the city, exhibits at Colette this month, where you can pick up tees and postcards (and more), emblazoned with his pseudo-cliché memos. |

PORTSIDE PARLOUR |
It's not about the face, it's about the hat. Headwear is certainly having a moment what with Philip Treacy's new book and now an exhibition dedicated to the art form. LCF will showcase big-name milliners, designers and emerging talent at its Fashion Space Gallery. Expect to see Stephen Jones' iconic black fedoras, Yohji Yamamoto's archive work from 2004 (think big), and the fabulously futuristic Pacman Ghost Hat by Giles Deacon and Stephen Jones. |
Rum is also having a moment (The Rum Kitchen, Rum and Ting…), and PortSide Parlour is getting involved with a hidden pop up underneath Off Broadway on Broadway Market. The bar, which is more akin to a pirate's den than a beach shack, offers 50 different speciality rums and a hearty list of cocktails – the Hot Buttered Rum is a must – against a soundtrack of rock 'n' roll and blues. Try Nicaraguan Flor de Caña, neat, for a syrupy kick. Flush and you're in. |

This is going to be a popular choice at LFW but we don't care. Our fave collaboration of the moment is DKNY x Opening Ceremony. The spring capsule collection features re-issued styles pulled straight from the catwalks of the early 90s. We want this tee from '92.

PARTY:
Defected in the House at Ministry of Sound |
The folks at Disco Bistro are at it again. This time they've got chef darling du jour Gizzi Erskine cooking up a deep-fried storm with a three-course Fried Chicken 'N' Doughnuts menu. Starters are chicken fried popcorn, fried chicken skin and chicken salt, mains come in the form of buttermilk fried wings (done sticky, Korean or BBQ style), a double fried chicken thigh roll and chicken fat fries. And breathe. Dessert, naturally, is custard doughnuts with rhubarb curd and sherbet. You'd better feel like chicken tonight. |
On to another disco, sort of. For those of you who missed out on tickets to the Krankbrother and Phonica warehouse party (yes, Phonica!), then there's another South London all-nighter to be had. Defected is back in the house! This time Ministry of Sound will play host to the label, with headliners such as Nick Curly and Tensnake keeping you going with their brand of deep house 'til 7am. Advance tickets have already sold out but there'll be a limited number available on the door. |

EXHIBITION:
LIGHT SHOW AT HAYWARD GALLERY |
EAT:
TONKOTSU'S NOODLE MACHINE |
If you liked the twinkling light installations at Yayoi Kusama's retrospective at Tate Modern last year, then get yourself to the Southbank's Hayward Gallery quick time. Light Show features works from 22 artists, from the 60s to present-day, who have all used light as their subject. See everything from LED stars and strobe lighting to a multi-coloured room and a spectacular sunset-like installation. |
We've got a lot of love for Tonkotsu and its simple, ramen-centric menu. Ever since it opened last year, the Tonk have been trying to get their hands on a noodle machine (apparently, if you don't make your own noodles, you're just a soup shop). After a difficult six months, the machine has finally arrived. To celebrate their new, house-made noodles they've added the Soho Ramen – a salt based, smoked haddock concoction – to their menu. Konichiwa. |
