The heat is on. With the sun shining, we've all gone a bit OTT on the fun-factor. From dining at Mahiki to playing boules with Bruno Loubet, this weekend is all about wigging out. With that in mind we are taking our dancing seriously – from hip hop to Ibiza, we've got it covered. And if you need a bit of down time, there is even some retail therapy. Have fun! |

Celestine Eleven |

J W Anderson, Meadham Kirchoff and a downstairs spa? Welcome Celestine Eleven, to Shoreditch. Billed as an alternative luxury concept store, expect the designer labels with the compulsory EC2 'up-and-comers' sitting alongside lifestyle products, a perfume bar and even an apothecary that boasts a medical plant garden. And if the shopping gets too much, head downstairs for some in-store reiki or a facial by Alexandra Soveral. Retail therapy indeed. |

CELEBRATE:
BASTILLE DAY AT BISTRO BRUNO LOUBET |
EAT:
ROCK LOBSTA AT MAHIKI |
Boules, barbeques and bicycles… Oui oui, it's Bastille Day! And this year it's all happening at Bistro Bruno Loubet. Our favourite French restaurant will be flying the red, white and blue flag at St John's Square and setting up a tour de force of pétanque competitions, slow bicycle races and battles between local Clerkenwell chefs, including Monsieur Loubet himself. To ensure you keep your game face well and truly on, a barbeque will be grilling up French classics, Loubet style – think merguez baguettes and minute steaks. |
It's all about Carl Clarke at the moment. From putting Disco Bistro on wheels (see you tonight if you're coming rink side) to now giving Rock Lobsta a permanent home at Mahiki, this man is chef du jour. Head to the Mayfair haunt to sip on snow crab slings (read: Don Julio Blanco tequila, grapefruit and ginger served with a lobster claw) and eat Cornish Lobster rolls, fried shrimp Po' boys and 'hot' and 'cold' crustaceans. If a lighter bite is what you're after, head to the raw bar and try the razor clam ceviche and spider crab legs, before hitting the treasure chests (when in Rome). Table to dance floor – we like. |

Zandra Rhodes: Unseen |
She's coming home! Zandra Rhodes, the inimitable founder of Bermondsey's Fashion and Textile Museum is subject to a retrospective guaranteed to be bursting with fun. From her outlandish prints in the 70s to her involvement in the Punk era, to dressing Diana, Rhodes has put her colourful stamp on every recent era of British fashion. And now that the sun is shining, a bit of a Rhodes wardrobe inspiration is exactly what the doctor ordered. |

'Without question the most extraordinary dramatic event you will find in any British theatre.'
Sunday Telegraph on The Masque of the Red Death.
Step into the world of Temple Pictures where the Hollywood studio system meets a forgotten hinterland filled with dreamers who exist at the fringes of the movie industry. Here, celluloid fantasy clings to desperate realism and certainty dissolves into a hallucinatory world.
The award-winning Punchdrunk return to London following The Masque of the Red Deathand their New York smash-hit Sleep No More, with their biggest production to date. Best availability from August. For more information and to book tickets click here. |

WIG OUT AT VOGUE FABRICS |
EAT:
Whyte & Brown |
Up for some poptastic fun? Grab your spandex and get ready for some shimmying, sweating and sequins as Wig Out hits the decks at Vogue Fabrics. Part of the Popstarz posse, Holestar, Tommy Turnables and Lady Lloyd are all set to be spinning mega hits from mega divas. Cher meets Lady Gaga by way of Diana Ross. |
It seems London's culinary obsession with the 'limited-choice' restaurant is still on a roll (yes Burger & Lobster and Tramshed we're looking at you) with the latest Carnaby addition, Whyte & Brown. Here they have a strict chicken or egg policy, and they aren't too concerned with what came first as long as it tastes good. With dishes such as Hanoi chicken soup, light chicken and langoustine pie and pea and ricotta poached egg bruschetta, this restaurant gives the age-old staples a new twist. We approve. |

LONDON MEXFEST: THE YOUNG AND THE DAMNED AT THE BFI |
PARTY:
Q-TIP AT KOKO |
Leave the sombrero at home and instead hit up the London Mexfest via Luis Buñuel's classic film, The Young and the Damned. Set against the backdrop of destitute Mexico City circa 1951, the story's stark themes span juvenile delinquency and gang warfare to eye-watering effect. Considered a masterpiece (and a blueprint for many films that have followed), the film earned Buñuel the Best Director Award. And if you're not done with Mexico just yet, head to the Royal Academy of Arts for the Mexico: A Revolution in Art exhibition, and get yourself a 101 in Mexican culture. |
If you're like us and feeling a bit hip hop right now (ears on the Dunkin' Donutz mix), head to KoKo this Sunday. Q-Tip (lead MC of A Tribe called Quest, of course) is hitting the decks alongside Gilles Peterson, Harry Love and Jimi Needles to give us some of his signature hip hop flavor. Having collaborated with the Beastie Boys and Chemical brothers, to name a few, and with the rest of his posse performing at Wireless, fingers crossed for some 'special guests'. |
