EAT:
LONDON HOUSE
  DRINK:
THE SALTLIME MARGARITA BAR

We're starting the weekend south of the river at Gordan Ramsay's latest restaurant London House–and it's a big one. The restaurant has taken over old vacated Bennett the Oyster Bar, seats 1300 covers and steers away from the Italian/American flavours of Union Street to a modern European palette. Expect dishes such as venison haunch with puy lentils, gremolata-crusted yellow fin tuna and baked haddock with squid ink. Our tip–get there early and nab a seat by the fireplace for a pre-dinner cocktail.   Last week we barbequed, this week we're salting our margaritas – winter we're done with you. The SaltLime Margarita Bar and Supper Club are back with their usual recipe of food, tunes, and boozy cocktails. But if you missed out on tickets for the sit down dinner, don't worry, the free after party kicks off from 9pm complete with a purpose built margarita bar and live music. And if you can't get in? Beagle around the corner have mighty fine cocktails, too.

The Brando

It's cold, wet and the tube is on strike – Tahiti is calling. Welcome The Brando. Once Marlon Brando's private sanctuary, now a 12-island Polynesian atoll of Tetiaroa, 30 miles north of Tahiti. The resort is 35 villas of eco-friendly luxury – all energy is 100 percent renewable – via solar, deep ocean-water cooling and coconut oil biofuel, plus the atoll boasts an ecology university with scientists (and guests) studying the ecosystem. Otherwise, beach bars fronting crystalline water, a three Michelin star restaurant, a spa fringed with coconut palms, and, um, Mutiny on the Bounty fantasies, will keep you entertained.

SUNDAY

EAT:
KITCHEN TABLE
  SEE:
JAMES TURRELL

Take your Sunday dinner up a notch at Kitchen Table. Head chef James Knappett (an ex-Ledbury alum) is hosting a one-off collaboration with executive chef Christopher Haatuft (of Lysverket, Norway). They will be serving up a 14- course tasting menu, each of what we expect to be a delicate fusion of Scandinavian and European cooking. And for those not up to speed, Kitchen Table is Bubbledogs' intimate chef's table of just 18 seats, meaning bookings are limited. Get on it.   For those not content with our February culturist pickings, head to the Pace gallery for a burst of colour via James Turrell. Famed for using light to extend and enhance perception, expect a flooding of colour via LED lights and projections. Turrell takes over the gallery in his sixth solo exhibition that includes two brand new installations housed in purpose built chambers on the ground floor of the gallery. Walk towards the light!
