This weekend we're hopping all over town. From supper clubs at One Leicester and crabshacks in Covent Garden to the latest Dabbous outpost in Fitzrovia and bubbles in St.James – it seems west is coming up best. But sharing our love around we're flitting between two parties: XOYO in the east and Pacha in Victoria… and breathe.

EAT:
ONE LEICESTER STREET POP UP WITH EX-VIAJANTE CHEF LEANDRO CARREIRA |
|
PARTY:
LINDSTRØM AT XOYO |
|
The Viajante alumni continue to spread their wings. Chef Leandro Carreira (who also worked at El Bulli and Mugaritz) is set for a three-month supper club at One Leicester Street. Expect a weekly changing menu of seasonal dishes such as brown crab with salted cucumber, root vegetables with black butter and the most interesting dish, trout meringues. In keeping with the supper club vibe, dining is via communal tables with each dish matched with cocktails thanks to resident barkeep, the Talented Mr Fox. Suffice to say, we're expecting good things. |
|
Disco heads take note: Norwegian heavyweight Lindstrøm is hitting the decks tonight at XOYO. Expect nothing less than a musical mashup of his record label, Smalltown Supersound, revived classics (I Feel Space, maybe?) and first-time beats. Joining him will be disco mavens Horse Meat Disco and Tim Sweeney to help take us to the wee hours. Tickets are selling fast, so if you haven't booked… |

WATCH:
FATAL ATTRACTION |
|
First Shake Shack, Grillshack and now we welcome a crabshack – Big Easy Bar.B.Q & Crabshack is soft opening this weekend – the latest American style eatery to hit the Covent Garden 'hood. Its USP? Fresh smoked barbecue, seafood and meat via the Argentinean-style parrilla charcoal grills and a rotisserie spit: think hogs, crabs, lobsters and steaks. Downstairs, the bar list features boozy juices and hard shakes, craft beers and exclusive brews on tap. Décor wise, it's all exposed timber and neon crabs. |
|
Before joining us at Pacha take in a West End show. Fatal Attraction, the blockbuster of plays has hit the Theatre Royal Haymarket. And like any good blockbuster, it brings with it some names: Kristin Davis (Charlotte from SATC), Natascha McElhone (Californication) and Mark Bazeley (The Bourne Ultimatum). The story line is as in the movie: obsession, revenge and fear. Will it be as good as the Hollywood version? Only time will tell. |

For those not up to speed: 2500 works by artists, designers, celebrities and students are up for grabs at £50 a pop– with the identities kept hush until the no-returns purchase is made. Fingers crossed for some bargain basement Emins, Blakes or Turks. |

And now for some more bubbles, but now we're onto Bellinis, with a twist. Quaglino's new Meringue & Bellini Bar comes stocked with 21 variations of the humble fizz alongside light bar snacks, by which we mean bespoke meringue 'kisses' with flavours ranging from light peach and champagne to the stronger espresso martini. |

Joy to our ears – Ollie Dabbous's second restaurant, Barnyard, is opening its doors Monday, March 17 – sans a reservation line. Here the menu departs from the haute Dabbous menu to a more pared down alternative: think homemade sausage rolls with piccalilli and roast beef on toast with horseradish buttermilk; libations of lemonade, lavender and popcorn hardshakes, grapefruit shandies and beer cocktails. |

KUROBUTA |
|
|
|
251 King's Road, SW3 5EL | Website |
|
In a Sentence |
The Royal Borough gets a dose of Japanese flavour. |
Location |
Behind an unassuming shopfront on the King's Road, Kurobuta is a low-key addition to the area's otherwise slick and shiny offerings. |
Vibe |
Originally opened as a three-month pop up, Kurobuta's lease has been extended due to popular demand: with its chilled out feel and tables packed with local regulars, we're not surprised. |
Flavours |
Scott Hallsworth is onto something. At Kurobuta, the ex-Nobu chef puts a playful twist on refined Japanese flavours with innovative, izakaya-style dishes. The menu is all about sharing plates: we started with (perfectly crunchy) pumpkin tempura, accompanied by a creamy spicy shiso dressing, which was a hard act to follow. The nasu dengaku was more than up to the challenge, elevating grilled aubergine with a stellar miso glaze…sweet and indulgent, it almost had us convinced that we should turn vegetarian. Then the tea smoked lamb, BBQ pork belly buns and soft shell crab maki came out: all standouts in a menu full of adventurous dishes. The drinks list is excellent, too: opt for sake from the bar's extensive selection for an authentic izakaya experience. |
Décor |
Conceived as a pop up, the restaurant has a thrown together feel, with vintage wood tables and industrial lighting. Grab a table at the back for a view of the chefs working their magic (watch out for blowtorch action). |
Upshot |
This pop up is going permanent, with Hallsworth opening a Marble Arch location in the next couple of months. Watch this space. |
