We’re officially into mid-summer territory (hello July!), so with that in mind we’ve got some summery happenings for you, starting with our Oakley London Cycling guide – it’s good, trust us! Otherwise, we have a party on a pontoon and an al fresco Spiedini and Spritz bar. And if you’re looking to stay indoors – we have a pub, a steakhouse and a dance tunnel!

EAt:
The Adam & Eve |
DRINK:
Flamingo Pier |
The Adam & Eve pub on Homerton High Street has been restored and is now back in business, with some added credentials. The kitchen, headed up by Matt Chatfield (the Cornish Grill) guarantees fresh Cornish supplies, while the menu, overseen by Michelin-starred chef Alyn Williams (The Westbury) reinvents pub classics: think hot roast beef on potato bread, grilled lobster and burgers topped with Cornish Yarg cheese. Lastly, the bar snacks come courtesy of the Quality Chop House, meaning it’s pub grub no more. |
Tonight, get your American fill (Happy 4th of July!) at Flamingo Pier. Taking over the Counter Cafe in Hackney once again, the monthly party has gone la la land on us. Celebrating Independence Day, expect food via LA’s Kome street food: think kimchi quesadillas, bulgogi fries, and Asian slaw, while drinks include pineapple juleps and slushy cocktails. And when the sun goes down, party under the stars on the floating pontoon - complete with palm trees and neon lights. |

Our favourite DJ/actor Idris Elba is back for another 7 Wallace residency at our home away from home, Ibiza Rocks House at Pikes. And just like last year, it’ll be nine house parties over nine Saturdays in July and August. Playing in the Freddie Mercury suite, think house party vibes with big bill DJs dropping by. This is THE Saturday night party on the island, so make sure to get on the guest list. |

DINNER:
Forza Dispensa |
PARTY:
Nick HÖppner and the Francis Inferno Orchestra at Dalston Dance Tunnel |
Joining the expansion 3.0 club comes Forza Win with their latest (and permanent) al fresco haunt, The Dispensa. Transforming the cash and carry in Peckham into a Spiedini and Spritz bar, The Dispensa’s menu revolves around fresh pasta and wood-fired spiedini (read: Italian kebabs). Spritz wise, there’ll be an Italian cocktail bar, organic wine, and beer, which is served direct from a vending machine. And keeping to their Forza Win ethos, it’s all about banquet communal dining and family style meals. |
If a Berghain-esque rave is your tonic, head down to the Dance Tunnel in Dalston tonight for a party hosted by Ostgut Ton, the label owned by the Berlin nightclub. The fourth in a series of events showcasing the best of Ostgut Ton, tonight’s gig will see the label’s manager Nick Höppner blasting beats, supported by the disco and house tracks of Griffin James aka Francis Inferno Orchestra. Word to the wise: this isn’t for the faint hearted. |

PICNIC:
Hawksmoor Knightsbridge |
SEE:
ROOM at The Beaumont Hotel |
Steakhouse connoisseurs Hawksmoor have brought their meaty brand to Knightsbridge. Although the decor follows its art deco theme, the menu here is different from the other branches and features a mix of Asian inspired seafood dishes: think Singapore-style devilled Brixham lobster, citrus scallops with chilli, and Vietnamese-style oysters. Meat-wise, expect the usual steaks, ribs and bone marrow – but the most interesting dish comes via the puddings, a giant Ferrero Rocher. |
The highly anticipated hotel by Corbin & King may not be opened yet, but its piece de résistance has been unveiled: ROOM, the inhabitable Lego-like sculpture that is its signature suite. Designed by Turner Prize winner Antony Gormley, this isn't just a place to rest your head, but a sure-fire tourist attraction. Now, we’re just waiting for the restaurant to be unveiled… |
