Hip-hop, tandoori bourbon and some experimental theatre, is the tall order for the weekend. Other than that we've got John Morales on decks tonight, hibiscus margaritas tomorrow, and a Jugged Hare (veggies be warned) on the Sunday brunch menu. We've also thrown in a few of our favourite product picks – all in shades of black. Enjoy!

FRIDAY

EAT:
DF/Mexico
  PARTY:
Work It 2.0

For some Mexican via America in London, grab a booth at newly opened DF / Mexico. From the guys behind Wahaca, this space is all about burritos, tacos, NYC tortas, and Mexican boards – and it works. From the carne con chile and fish tacos to the raspberry and hibiscus margaritas, plus bright, industrial décor, this is a Mexican diner à la Tacombi NYC.   Now head up the road to Dalston for some hip hop. Our favourite R'n'B night is shaking things up and leaving their usual haunts (Concrete, Visions, Village Underground…) for the normally electro-heavy Dance Tunnel. Why? Because tonight they'll be showcasing some more progressive hip hop beats – welcome Work It 2.0 and its theme of Yesterday, Today & Tomorrow.

DRINK:
Call Me Mr Lucky
  PARTY:
BLEACH BAR

Adding to the list of not-so-secret speakeasies from the team behind Spitalfields Mayor of Scaredy Cat Town and Battersea's King of Ladies Man comes newbie Call Me Mr Lucky. And they're following the same recipe. Hidden inside The Breakfast Club via a secret 'swipe-only access' (ask a waiter) is the downstairs cocktail lair. Although the idea may not be original, the drinks definitely are: think maple-infused concoctions, tandoori-infused bourbon and popcorn whisky.   From colourful hairdos to drinks, the duo behind Bleach Hair Salon (Alex Brownsell and Sam Teasdale) have expanded their brand to include a pop up bar down the road. Open for ten weeks, come here for bright cocktails, alcoholic lollypops, frozen margaritas and slushies, plus quirky snacks (Slushino Ratmilk, anyone?). As for the interior? Think a 'Blade Runner-esque, psychedelic acid trip'… oh Dalston!

BRUNCH:
The Jugged Hare
  SEE:
The Boy Who
Climbed out of His Face

'Tis the start of game season and our pick for a luncheon serving the freshest of the crop is The Jugged Hare. Pick from the specials board of roasted red grouse served with game chips, or order the namesake dish: the Jugged Hare. Officially back on the menu across Britain from August 1 (after a six month ban) the dish comes by way of the 18th century, meaning, the hare is cooked in a jug of its own blood and stewed. Game on, indeed!   Shunt collective is back! And if you're familiar with the experimental group you'll know to leave your expectations – or in this case, your shoes and socks – at the door. For their latest production, The Boy Who Climbed Out of His Face, the collective have taken over the jetty on a pavilion built from shipping containers. We don't know much at this stage except that it'll be a 45-minute 'multi-sensory' experience in which you get 'spat out'. Plus, there's a bar (open to the public) and if it's anything like their circa-2011 club night, we're there.
